Useful Links

We offer a number of links to other websites that may be of interest
and assistance. However please note that following these links will
take you off the Thermofrost Cryo site. Please bookmark us for ease
of return.
- FETA - The Federation of Environmental Trade Associations
website has a comprehensive listing of useful links to other trade
and governmental organizations, as well as its own sections for
the BRA (the British Refrigeration Association), HEVAC (the Heating,
Ventilating and Air Conditioning Manufacturers Association) and
HPA (the Heat Pump Association). Visit them at www.feta.co.uk
- Institute of Refrigeration - The Institute was founded
in 1899 as the Cold Storage and Ice Association and is the oldest
national society of mechanical refrigeration in the world. In
1944 qualified membership was introduced in order to raise the
status of the association and of those engaged in the science
and practice of refrigeration, and the present name of the Institution
of Refrigeration was adopted. It is the Industry's professional
body and learned society where people from every part of the world
join together to promote the advancement of refrigeration. Visit
them at www.ior.org.uk
- Energy efficiency - The UK Government has a site devoted
to energy efficiency. Visit it at The

waste regulations that affect our industry.
- European Partnership for Energy and the Environment (EPEE)
- A broad-based grouping of responsible companies, national associations
and European associations active in the European air-conditioning,
heat pump and refrigeration industry. It was formed in September
2000 to contribute to the development of effective European policies
to reduce green-house gas emissions from the use of refrigerants.

- Register of Companies Competent to Handle Refrigerants (REFCOM)
- REFCOM registration is designed for responsible contractors
to demonstrate their competence to clients and other interested
parties in the safe handling and recovery of refrigerants. Their
mission statement is to recognise and safeguard the role of the
employer so that they can be encouraged to operate entirely to
industry best practice; for them to be environmentally aware and
to operate entirely in compliance with current legislation; for
their operatives to be suitably trained and competent to carry
out their work in accordance with Company procedures. They achieve
this by administering the REFCOM scheme, a set of high professional
standards recognised by The Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
Industry Board ACRIB and the RAC Industry. Visit them at www.refcom.org.uk
