KD Scroll low noise refrigeration condensing units

February 2008
A new range of low noise refrigeration condensing units aimed
at retail applications has been introduced by Thermofrost Cryo Plc.
The new units, branded KD Scroll, are designed for outdoor installation,
typically connected to remote display cabinets located within the
retail store. However they can also be used for cold room applications.
Based around Copeland scroll compressors, the new range consists
of 5 models covering nominal refrigeration duties from 3.2 to 7.85
kW at an evaporating temperature of -10 deg. C on refrigerant R404A.
Evaporating ranges from +5 to -20 deg. C are allowable. Noise levels
have been kept low, and the units are factory fitted with condenser
fan speed control, drier, sight glass, adjustable pressure switches,
external liquid and suction valves, liquid receiver, mains isolator,
compressor contactor and overload. The four smaller units have a
single condenser fan discharging horizontally as illustrated above,
whilst the largest unit has two condenser fans which discharge vertically.
All models are fully weatherproof, with a powder coated galvanised
steel housing and Blue Fin anti-corrosion coating on the condenser
coil.
