New electronics for HACCP
July 2002
.
Dixell's new XR700 and XW700 series of electronic controllers for
cases and coldrooms has been designed to meet the needs of the HACCP
(Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) system for food safety.
The new controllers, available in the standard format 32x74 and
also the new Wing Horizontal or Vertical formats, are designed for
"stand alone" applications, where a centralised monitoring network
is either not suitable or cost effective. In addition to controlling
the refrigeration process, each controller also manages and logs
temperature alarms, and any fault condition within the refrigeration
system.
The front facia has been designed to provide the maximum information
in a clear, easy to read format, using a two line LEDs display and
a series of bright icons. Normally displaying temperature and time,
all the information about the current situation and historical data
can be examined simply by looking at the display or pressing a few
keys.
The monitoring probe detects temperatures that exceed high or low
limits, and can be independent from the thermostat probe.Alarms
are logged with an identification code, recording the date and time
of the beginning and end of the alarm condition together with the
maximum temperature reached. Power failures and various external
events (door openings etc) are also recorded via a digital input.
An optional infrared device is available to download from the controller
all the recorded data (up to 20 alarm conditions) and to transfer
them directly to a printer via an Infra Red port. A PC is not required.
