LG keeps top riders cool
July 2002

Specialist coach builder Gary Hirst and his team build luxury horse
boxes which are designed to provide everything that the owners,
riders and horses need to be self sufficient when attending events
all over Europe.
The standard heating system previously fitted to each vehicle has
now been replaced with an LG split system heat pump, following a
proposal from Thermofrost Cryo.
The 2 kW wall mounted indoor unit cools and heats the living accommodation,
which is located just behind the unique fully tilting cab. LG's
JET COOL rapid cooling feature brings the indoor temperature down
quickly after the vehicle has been standing in the sun, whilst built-in
PLASMA electronic air filtration keeps the air clean.

The outdoor unit is hung underneath the chassis on a purpose made
frame. Whilst on the move it is protected by a plastic cover, which
is removed when the horse box is stationary. Power is supplied by
the on-board generator, or by mains supply if available on site.
Up to six horses can be stabled in the rear of the vehicle and they
can also be air conditioned by fitting additional LG units in the
same way.
