Dixel sponsors Moto GP team

March 2006
One of our leading suppliers, electronics manufacturer Dixell of
Italy, has agreed to sponsor the KONICA MINOLTA Honda motorcycle
racing team for the 2006 Moto GP series, the first season in a three
year deal.
Lead by Japanese rider Makoto Tamada, the team will use the Honda
RC211V to campaign the 17 race championship which starts at the
Jerez circuit in March and concludes at Valencia in October.
Renzo Ricci, Dixell SpA Managing Director explains the reasoning
behind the sponsorship: "Right from the start we realized that being
a partner of the KONICA MINOLTA Honda Team and participating in
the World MotoGP Championship would represent a historical moment
for Dixell, an important step to establish our brand at an international
level. In the last ten years we have been focused on developing
innovative products, investing in top level technology, efficiency
and quality production systems, and creating a commercial network
of exclusive sales agents in more than 60 countries in the world
to assure local support for our customers. Today, the Dixell logo
is well known within the RAC market and it is considered to be a
world leader for its innovation and quality. Our company strategy
is to also make our name known to a bigger and wider public within
the food distribution chain and the field of commercial climate
control. This three year project agreed with the JiR Team, completely
satisfies that strategy as the two companies have the same mutual
targets of technology, innovation and to win in a world full of
challenges".
In response, Luca Montiron, KONICA MINOLTA Honda Managing Director
replied : "Another new sponsor joins world MotoGP with JiR. A new
challenge for us and for the company Dixell. I think professional
motorcycle sport is undergoing an important change. Some years ago
we made a courageous and important decision to develop a sporting
project dedicated to Japan but representing commercial interests
from around the world. We have two world leading companies in Honda
and KONICA MINOLTA who gave the name to our Team, our RC211V livery
is very distinctive, now it is up to our rider to finish in the
top positions. Dixell will receive our full support to organize
a profitable activity in the Marketing and Communication sectors,
together we will match our interests and create synergies. In the
Dixell Group, I have found the same initiative characterizing our
style in MotoGP. I'm sure that together we will be able to achieve
the sporting and commercial success for wich the two companies are
both aiming."
The first race of the 2006 series takes place in Jerez on March
26th.
In the UK Dixell products are available from distributor Thermofrost
Cryo Plc.
