Universal-R upgraded to version 3.0
January 2005
Dixell
have introduced an updated version 3.0 of their popular Universal-R
controller, designed as a universal service replacement for all
common 32 x 74 mm format controllers.
Since this cut-out dimension first became the common standard for
electronic refrigeration controllers, the range of brands and models
that a service engineer can encounter has increased and multiplied
dramatically. As a result, sourcing the correct service replacement
can be difficult and time consuming.
The v3.0 Universal-R offers a convenient and versatile solution,
able to operate as an on/off refrigeration thermostat (now for heating
too), or a combined thermostat/defrost control with off-cycle defrost,
time initiated/time terminated defrost, or time initiated/temperature
terminated defrost, and also offering the option of fan delay on
termination.
It also includes an audible/visual high & low temperature alarm
plus a volt free relay that can be configured for alarms/auxiliary
or dead band control. In addition its digital input can be configured
for external alarms, door switch, energy saving, remote on/off etc.
The v3.0 now automatically recognises what type of sensor (PTC
or NTC) it is connected to, and allows fast and easy programming
via a direct access 'smart parameter'. Its versatility now allows
it to replace over 100 different models of refrigeration controller.
The order code for the Universal-R is DIXL042.
