Most people in the air conditioning trade recognise the potential of the domestic market. However, until now, the products available have fallen short of the main requirements for this demanding sector of the market. The Centre Cool system avoids the shortfalls of split systems and mobile units for home use.

Consider the 7 main requirements for comfort cooling in the home and see how Centre Cool measures up.

1. Achieve an acceptable price per room cooled.

The pricing strategy for Centre Cool is that it should comfort cool four rooms at an affordable installed price.

2. Provide a "fit and forget" installation that does not inconvenience the end user whilst in use.

The whole installation is located in the loft space and does not intrude into the living space of the home. The control thermostat can be conveniently positioned.

3. Provide a system with minimum internal and external evidence of the installation.

There is no visible indoor unit and, since the system is contained entirely within the loft space, there is no unsightly interconnecting pipework. The only evidence in the room is the unobtrusive supply air ceiling diffuser.

4. Ensure low noise levels both inside and outside the building.

With a fully ducted system, indoor noise levels are very low. Through the night, the lowest fan speed can be selected, reducing noise levels to a minimum. Outdoor noise levels are so low as to be negligible. The machine comes with rubber anti-vibration mountings and a chipboard base is included in the installation kit.

5. Dispose of condensate without the need for pumps or manual assistance.

Due to the location of the machine, condensate can be gravity fed into the rainwater drainage system.

6. Ensure minimum inconvenience to neighbours.

Since there is no outdoor unit, issues of noise and aesthetics are avoided.

7. Provide adequate control over the system.

The system comes complete with a wall mounted thermostat with on/off, 3 fan speeds and temperature control.

The Centre Cool System is available in 2 sizes, delivering either 3.8 or 6.0 kW from a single phase supply and each size is designed to cool four bedrooms.

The machine comes in three easily assembled sections; a centre refrigeration module and two fan boxes. This method of construction eases the process of lifting the system through a hatch into the loft space. Also, any section can be removed for servicing, even away from site if necessary.

A number of optional fitting kits are available for a quick and trouble free installation in a variety of circumstances.

For customers who are concerned about air quality, there is an optional electronic air filter which constantly purifies the air returning to the machine.

Centre Cool has also been applied in commercial premises where outdoor units cannot be conveniently sighted. As such it can be regarded as a "one-piece" ducted unit.
