Q)
What types of system can you offer for cellar cooling?
A)
We offer three main types of system.
Cellartemp Compact is a packaged system with an outdoor unit
designed for a minimum footprint and easy installation in
confined spaces.
The Quietis Cellartemp is a low noise system for applications
where noise levels must be kept low. For maximum flexibility
all Cellatemp systems are "mix and match".
We also offer the Marstair Cellarking and JCC ranges of spilt
system cellar coolers

Q)
What do you mean by "mix and match"?
A)
"Mix and match" means that the outdoor units (the
condensing unit) can be matched to different size cellar units
to optimise performance and cost.

Q)
What is the benefit of the pumpdown system on a Cellartemp
unit?
A)
The pump down system reduces on-site installation time and
cost. The evaporator is plugged into a local 13amp supply
and the housed outdoor condensing unit also has it's own supply,
so there is no interconnecting electrical wiring between the
outdoor unit and evaporator. When the room is down to temperature
the Dixell digital control built into the evaporator shuts
the liquid line solenoid valve, the suction pressure then
falls until the low pressure switch fitted to the outdoor
unit trips, so stopping the compressor. On temperature rise
the digital controller opens the solenoid valve and the compressor
re-starts.

Q)
Can you supply a quiet unit for residential applications?
A)
We offer Quietis Cellartemp low noise systems to give noise
levels as low as 29 dB(A)@ 10 m.

Q)
Why do you offer such a wide choice of refrigerants?
A)
Cellartemp systems can use R404A, R407c, R134a or R22, depending
on the models selected and customer preference. Traditionally
R22 had been the most popular but the phase out of that refrigerant
means that HFCs have taken over. Compared to R22, R134a requires
larger equipment whilst R407c offers similar performance from
the same size equipment. However R407c is not the easiest
refrigerant to work with. R404A also offers similar performance
to R22 and with few drawbacks, for this reason it is often
the best choice.
Marstair Cellarking systems operate on R407c.

Q)
Can you recommend pipe sizes for Cellartemp Compact systems?
A)
Recommended suction and liquid line sizes are available as
an Acrobat Reader file for download:
If you do not have Acrobat Reader it is also available as
a free download

| |

Q)
Where do I take the power supply on a Marstair Cellarking
system?
A)
The mains power is run to the outdoor condensing unit, and
a supply for the cooler is then run from there.

Q)
What are the features of the JCC system?
A)
The JCC systems use rotary compressors and refrigerant R410A
for maximum efficiency. They are delivered pre-charged for
pipe runs of 7 m; for longer runs additional refrigerant should
be added. They are fitted with a digital controller.

Q)
Is there a selection guide for cellar cooling systems
A)
Our Quick Selection guide covers cellars from 28 cubic meters
(1,000 cubic feet) to 283 cubic meters (10,000 cubic feet)
and is available
in printed form from our offices, or can be downoaded
as a pdf file.
